Recipe of the Month

Creole Chili Con Carne

  • 2 Tbsp.         Vegetable oil
  • 1/2 Cup       Minced oinions
  • 1/4 cup        Diced Celery
  • 1/2 Cup       Chopped green bell pepper
  • 3/4 Lb.         Lean ground beef
  • 1 Tbsp.         Flour
  • 16 oz.            Canned red beans with chili gravy
  • 1 cup            Water
  • 1/2 tsp.        Salt
  • 1/4 tsp.        Hot pepper sauce
  • 1 tsp.            Steak sauce
  • Crackers or cooked rice
  • Directions:

    Heat oil in large skillet, saute vegetables until golden.  Stir in beef, brown.  Stir in flour, add beans, water, salt,and sauces.  Simmer unitl desired thickness, stiring frequently.  Serve with crackers or over rice.     Serves 6.
